Vision Events

The business is split into two, half of the company is audio visual equipment hire and the other half is event production, from award shows to conferences. For example, this year they worked on T in the Park music festival on both the main stage and cabaret tent.

VisionEvents have been at Borron Street since around 2005. Malky Todd who heads up the Glasgow operation said, “100 Borron Street has fantastic transport links to the M8 and city centre of Glasgow. This was very important for us as a business; our daily logistics require us to travel about a lot.”

At the moment, VisionEvents is working on a lot of exciting work in the lead up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games as well as the Ryder Cup which have created opportunities for both areas of the company.

There are three full-time team members who are always at the Borron Street location, with the rest of the staff, crew and technicians travelling around the country to coordinate the company’s busy calendar of activity.

Malky Todd, project manager at VisionEvents

Malky Todd has nearly 17 years’ experience in the event’s industry, 13 of which have been at VisionEvents. He joined the company as a technician and has worked his way up the ranks and he now heads up the Glasgow branch.

His events range considerably from producing the first event in the new SSE Hydro, to PR stunts for forthcoming Doctor Who 50th Birthday celebrations, as well as weddings, award ceremonies and conferences.

For technically demanding briefs with an innovative approach utilising top end new technology, Malky has the knowledge and inspiration to take any event to the next level.

Malky’s job is especially varied, and he is often the glue which holds a project together. He has developed long standing relationships with clients and has great experience of developing events year on year. Specifically, Malky’s job is technical project manager which requires him to quote for all the AV equipment and ensure the correct kit is supplied to meet the client’s needs. This takes him from initial client contact, concepts, pre-planning, budgets through to event completion.

Whilst he is doing all of this, Malky is also liaising with the client through all stages, delivering the sort of customer service which VisionEvents has built its reputation upon.
